Biography

Biography

  • Imāmī Šīʿī theologian and jurist, he was introduced to fiḳh and theology at a young age in Baghdad.- He was closed to the doctrine of Baghdad's Muʿtazilī school, different from the Baṣra one.- Polemical author, most of his writings are refutations of Muʿtazilī positions, theologians, traditionalists, and Ḳurʾān experts.- Regarding religious law, he criticized the Imāmī traditionalist school of Ḳumm.- During the riots between Sunnīs and Šīʿīs in Baghdad, he was banished three times from the city.- He had a great influence on the Šīʿī community of that time but it was then limited in the long run due to the adoption by his successors of the Muʿtazilī theology of Baṣra
